Jonah J. Goldstein, New York attorney, and Mrs. Goldstein arrived here tonight on the steamer “Bremen.” Mr. Goldstein received a wireless aboard the steamer from Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, requesting him not to go directly to Palestine, as he had intended for the purpose of aiding in the investigation of the crimes committed. Dr. Weizmann requested Mr. Goldstein to stop in London to confer with him on coordination of American and British activities in connection with the situation in Palestine.

Bernard Goldstein, pioneer resident of Montreal, Canada, died on Saturday.

Mr. Goldstein was interested in communal and philanthropic endeavors and was affiliated with practically every local Jewish communal activity. He was a charter member of the Temple Emmanuel, his father, Adolph Goldstein, being the founder of that body.

He is survived by five sons, among whom is Maxwell Goldstein, K. C., of Montreal, and four daughters.

Rabbi C. David Matt who has been rabbi of Temple Beth David of Buffalo since March 1927, has accepted the call of the West Philadelphia Jewish Community Center. Rabbi Matt will assume his new duties this month.
