Gedalia Bublick, president of the American Mizrachi, who was an eye-witness of the events in Palestine and, on his way back to the United States attended the Zionist General Council session in London, in a statement to the Jewish Daily Bulletin, urged careful but vigorous action on the part of American Jews with regard to the present situation in Palestine. Mr. Bublick returned to New York this week.
“The stand taken by American Jewry towards the great national calamity in Palestine was like balsam to the Jewish sufferings in this dark hour,” he stated. “It is impossible to relate in words the tremendous and encouraging effect upon Palestine Jews of the news about the protest meetings and demonstrations of the American Jews against the horrible happenings in Palestine. At the meeting of the Actions Committee in London, much was said about the action of the American Jews at this moment. It was felt by all that the action taken by the Jews of America was of tremendous political importance. The English Government, it was felt, could not ignore the four million Jews in America and would not disregard the forcefully expressed sympathy of leading Americans over the tragic occurrences in Palestine.

Jews have played in the recent events in Palestine is not yet at an end,” said Mr. Bublick. “There is still much to be done in this direction. Of course, whatever is done should be done with tact and orderliness. American Jews must know that upon their shoulders rests not only the great task of helping financially the victims of the atrocities in Palestine and continuing the work for the upbuilding of Eretz Yisroel. It is also the duty of American Jews to take a more active part in shaping the situation in Palestine.”
