Replying to the statement made by the Zionist Executive through Dr. Leonard Stein, charging them with having broken the united Jewish front in relation to the Palestine events, the Zionist Revisionists at a press conference here declared that this assertion is a “senseless calumny.”
Spokesmen for the League of Zionist Revisionists declared that the body will remain within the Zionist Organization as hitherto, but will “continue its struggle against the leadership” in accordance with their announcement two weeks ago. The Revisionists blamed Dr. Weizmann for rejecting their proposal for a united front, when he stated that it was impossible for him to work with a group which remained outside of the Jewish Agency, further declaring that he intends to pursue his old policy unchanged, unwilling to admit failure.
The Revisionists further disclosed that they had proposed the creation of an emergency political committee, which was to consist of seven memers of the majority and three members of the opposition, namely, one representing the American opposition group, one the Radical Zionists and one the Revisionists. This they consider to be the only modus operandi possible and was not a coup d’etat, because they agreed the Executive is to remain in power until an emergency Congress is called to reconsider the Zionist policy in the light of the events and create new machinery for the political work. Almost all parties denounced the Zionist Executive at the session of the General Council in London and neither approved nor adopted the Executive’s policy, the Revisionists declare.
