Through the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at the University of Wisconsin all Jewish students there who missed classes on Rosh Hashanah because they wished to observe that holiday received “excused cuts” from the deans of their respective colleges.

Similar arrangements have been made for excused cuts for those who will miss classes on Yom Kippur.

Hillel Foundations at the seven universities where they operate, Ohio, State, Michigan, Illinois, California, West Virginia, Cornell and Wisconsin held sermons for the benefit of those students who did not return home for the holidays.
