Committees composed of representatives of various Landsmanschaften and members of the American Ort, society for the promotion of trades and agriculture among Russian Jews, were formed to aid in the establishment of textile mills, carpentry, weaving and woodwork shops and other manufactures in cities and towns of Russia and Poland. Announcement of the formation of the committees was made at a meeting in New York presided over by Louis Boudin and addressed by Judge Jacob Panken, Dr. Henry Moskowitz and Gerson Zybert.
The expenditure of $7,000 can give employment to 150 people. Judge Panken declared in his address.
