Thirty-five workers of the Yartzev. Textile Factory, the largest in West Russia, declared a walk out because a woman worker, Sapozhnikova, was discharged for carrying on anti-Semitic agitation.

As a condition for their return to work, the strikers demanded the reinstatement of Sapozhnikova, and the discharge of all Jews from the factory.
