Otto H. Kahn, whose appointment as treasurer of the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee was opposed by some Republican leaders, has declined to accept the post.
In a letter to Senator George H. Moses of New Hampshire, chairman, who named Mr. Kahn, the banker asked the Senator to refrain from bringing his name up for appointment to the treasurer ship of the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Admitting that his first answer to Senator Moses’ invitation to become treasurer of the committee was “tantamount to an acceptance in principle.” Mr. Kahn said he had doubted that he was the right man and that the “divided reception” which the report of his appointment had met confirmed his doubts.
