The trial of the Arabs who are carrying on a boycott agitation against the Jews was begun yesterday before District Commissioner Campbell. An Arab instigator named Habbab was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment.

The Arab Executive charges that the Arabs briefed a counsel for the defendants which Campbell refused to allow.

Among the defendants is Sheik Maizafer, Arab lawyer, who represented the Arabs before the Commission during the examination of the Police Officer Quigley.

As a result of the arrest of eight boycotters in Jaffa Saturday the Arab shops in Jaffa were closed Sunday. It is understood that the moderates in the Arab Executive are endeavoring to prevent this protest from developing into a general strike.
