That the Mandates Commission had not refused to investigate the Wailing Wall dispute but had submitted a report to the Council of the League of Nations regarding Great Britain’s proposal on the subject with a view to securing a final settlement of the question was stated by Paling, Labor M. P., on behalf of the Colonial Office today in the House of Commons in answer to Col. Howard Bury’s question as to whether, since the Mandates Commission had refused to investigate the dispute, the Palestine government adhered to the status quo according to the White Paper.
