A state-wide conference of rabbis and laymen of Jewish communities in Connecticut will be held at Emanuel Synagogue in this city January 12. This was a decision reached at a conference of rabbis of Hartford. New Haven, New Britain and Waterbury at a meeting this week.
The conference is being fostered by the United Synagogue of America for the purpose of discussing way and means of advancing Jewish religious education in the state. Approximately 65 congregations, representing some 35 communities, are expected to be represented.
