A resolution protesting against the recent speech made by Dr. Judah Magnes, Chancellor of the Hebrew University, in connection with an Arab-Jewish rapprochment and a Palestine parliament was adopted here today by the Jewish Physicians’ Association.
The Association declared that Dr. Magnes, as dean of the University, had outstripped his privileges in including political tendencies when speaking as head of the University. “Every academic institution,” the resolution said in part, “is bound to observe neutrality concerning political tendencies. The speech of Dr. Magnes infringes on such neutrality. Such actions on the part of the head of the Hebrew University may involve it in party disputes, thus endangering its development.”
