Justice Samuel Kalisch, prominent Jewish jurist and scholar, of Newark, N. J., was guest of honor. Saturday night, at the annual dinner of the Hudson County (N. J.) Bar Association, held at the Hotel Pennsylvania, New York. Justice Kalisch presides over the Hudson County circuit of the New Jersey State Supreme Court. Nearly five hundred persons attended the dinner, which was addressed by Warden Lewis E. Lawes, of Sing Sing, State Senator Simpson of Jersey City, Herbert Boggs of Newark, and Alexander Seclow, of Bayonne, president of the Bar Association, who presided. Among the many communications received, lauding Justice Kalisch for his legal attainments, was one from Justice Benamin Cardozo, of New York.
