Franco-american Oil Interests Opposing British in Mosul

Should British oil interests insist on a pipeline from the Mosul oil fields through Haifa, French and American interests in the Turkish Petroleum Company will lay a separate pipeline to a Syrian port, according to Syrian papers containing reports of Franco-American negotiations for a contemplated railway line extension from Damascus to Mosul in order to nullify the proposed Bagdad-Haifa line.
