The Pope has sent his blessing to Eugen Vida, a member of the executive committee of the Budapest Jewish Community, and manager of a large coal mining company, because his company built a church for its workers. Archbishop Seredi, while on a visit to Rome, told the Pope about it, whereupon Cardinal Gaspari, the Papal secretary, wrote to Vida that “His Holiness rejoices in your action, bringing many of his children religious and moral benefaction. He prays that the Lord bless you and your family.”
