Approval of a law which in effect constitutes a ban on schechita was given yesterday by a constitutional committee of the Bavarian parliament. The law, which prohibits slaughtering without previously stunning the animal, was adopted in draft. What the attitude of Parliament itself will be is yet unknown. All parties except the Volks-Partie voted for the bill.
