Detroit to Raise $100,000 for Allied $6,000,000 Drive

Detroit is the first city to complete plans for the Allied campaign of the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency, 200 workers of the service group of the Jewish Welfare Federation were told by Harry Wineman, president of the Federation. He announced that Detroit Jews will be asked in April for $300,000, to include $100,000 for the Allied campaign. Of the rest, $100,000 will be used for building a community center, $50,000 for Hebrew schools, and the balance for other local needs. The announcement was made at a dinner at which David Bressler, one of the chairmen of the Allied campaign, was the principal speaker.
