Two Jews sentenced to death in Palestine at the Court of Criminal Assizes have not yet had their appeals heard; seventeen Arabs sentenced to death by the same court have had their sentences confirmed by the Court of Appeal, and a number of those convicted who have applied for leave to appeal to the Privy Council have had confirmation or commutation of their death sentences postponed by the High Commissioner, said Drummond Shiels, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, answering a question of Howard Bury in the House of Commons.
