A letter from Schomuel Meilawi, a Jewish merchant, to Mouzza Far, Arab boycott leader, describing how the boycott injured trade and inviting Arab-Jewish economic cooperation, is published today without comment in the Arab paper “Felestin.” The letter invites mutual cooperation “within the house wherein we live,” and adds that Palestine, as the rest of the world, is unable to carry on business without the Jews.

The Jewish merchant’s letter reveals how Arab merchants are clandestinely trading with Jews despite the boycott.
