The approaching completion of the new buildings of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America has already attracted two notable gifts. Felix M. Warburg, a director of the Seminary, has purchased the very fine painting “The Rabbi” by Joseph Margolies now on exhibition at the Jewish Club, and will place it in one of the new buildings when they are occupied. Leo Mielziner, the well-known painter, from whose brush the Seminary has the portrait of Dr. Solomon Schechter, has offered to present a portrait of the well-known landscape painter, Louis Loeb, which Mielziner painter from life. The preliminary drawings for this portrait were presented to the Metropolitan Museum by Jacob H. Schiff.
