Superintendent William J. O’Shea will again present to the Board of Superintendents on Thursday a plan to introduce Hebrew in the public schools. The matter was presented to the board several weeks ago, but was not acceptable, and Dr. O’Shea, in again bringing the matter to their attention, is confident that they will see the “fairness” of it, since the course will be offered as an elective subject and will be treated only in the light of an experiment.

The superintendent is of the opinion that it is “a matter of justice” to offer an experimental course in Hebrew if there is sufficient demand for it, and as a consequence, Dr. O’Shea has requested a member of the faculty of the Yeshiva College to map out a tentative plan for study.
