Honoring the memory of the late “Pop” I. B. Jashenosky, unofficial rabbi for Jewish prisoners at Ohio penitentiary, officers of the Columbus B’nai B’rith have formed the nucleus of a $2,500 memorial fund to be used in giving financial aid to prisoners released from the penal institution until they are able to take their proper places in society.
The fund will be under the supervision of the Social Service committee of the B’nai B’rith, with Jack Myers, who for many years aided the welfare work of Mr. Jashenosky, as chairman and treasurer of the fund; E. J. Schanfarber, prominent attorney, vice-chairman; and I. W. Garek, secretary.
