The names of three leading Jews and one outstanding Jewess of this city are included in a ballot running daily in the “Pittsburgh Press,” which is cooperating with the Pittsburgh Advertising Club, as the latter organization attempts to determine the “ten outstanding citizens of Pittsburgh.”
Among the list of thirty names, suggested by the majority vote of the people of this city, and being voted on daily, are Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, spiritual leader of the Temple Rodef Shalom here; Edgar Kaufmann, president of Kaufmann’s Department Store, art patron and leader in Y.M.A. activities, Maurice Falk, nationally known donor of the Laura and Maurice Falk $10,000,000 Foundation for charitable and educational accomplishment; and Mrs. Enoch Rauh, now serving her third term as director of the department of public welfare of the city.
Results of the voting so far find the Jewish candidates up front. Announcement of the victors will be made at the annual banquet of the Advertising Club, this coming Tuesday evening, April 29, and those chosen will be termed “the ten living persons in the Pittsburh district who have made the greatest contribution to the public good.”
