The Joint Distribution Committee is prepared to assist in the creation of permanent relief works in Poland, declared Dr. Bernard Kahn, European director of the Joint, at a conference here today with Drs. Sh. Goldflamm, Max Soloweitschik and Maurice Mayzel on the catastrophal situation of Polish Jewry.

As an indication of the extreme poverty among Polish Jewry, Dr. Goldflamm pointed out that the annual budget of the Berlin Jewish community was 12,000,000 marks while the entire budget of all Polish Jewish communities, with a total of three million people, was considerably less.
