Hailing the Allied Jewish Campaign as an augury of “the unity of American Israel,” the heads of four leading rabbinical organizations have issued a joint statement, calling upon their colleagues to give their active participation in this city and throughout to the country to the effort to raise $6,000,000 to meet the 1930 budgets of the Joint Distribution Committee and of the Jewish Agency for Palestine.
The call, which is signed by Rev. Dr. Louis Finkelstein, president of the Rabbinical assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Rev. Dr. Leo Jung, Rev. Dr. Maurice H. Harris, president of the Association of Reform Rabbis of New York and Vicinity, and Rev. Dr. Elias L. Solomon, president of the New York Board of Ministers, declares that by giving their cooperation to the campaign, the Rabbis of this country will help inaugurate “the new era of mutual understanding, sympathy and joint effort in behalf of Israel in this country and throughout the world.”
