For the first time in its history, the Institute Players’ Guild of the Jewish People’s Institute won the coveted Edith Rockefeller McCormick Cup in the Greater Chicago Drama League Contest with the play, “The Tenth Man,” by Elma Ehrlich Levinger, which it presented for the contest. The largest single award of the contest also went to the Institute Players’ Guild when Ralph Schoolman took the first prize for diction offered by Mortimer Singer, head of the Orpheum Circuit.
