The order of the British Colonial Office suspending Jewish immigration into Palestine, which has aroused the condemnation of Jews throughout the world and which is the cause of the general Jewish strike in Palestine today, is called a “dastardly violation” of the Mandate granted to Great Britain by the League of Nations in an official statement issued by Louis Lipsky, president of the Zionist Organization of America, in which he expresses the views of American Zionists with regard to the action of the British Government.

The confidence which Zionists have reposed in the British Government is on the verge of breaking, Mr. Lipsky declares, saying that the only way for Britain to regain the confidence of millions of Jews is to order, without delay, the opening of the doors of Palestine. Pointing out that the suspension of the 3,300 immigration certificates is a purely political move and has nothing to do with the economic situation in Palestine, Mr. Lipsky emphasizes the fact that High Commissioner Chancellor had already approved the issuance of these certificates as economically justifiable.

It was said at Zionist headquarters yesterday that unless Great Britain changes its course with respect to Palestine, that drastic action will be taken by the Zionists of America, in consonance with Jews throughout the world.
