A call for a fast, similar to the one on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) has been issued to the Jews of Poland by a conference of 100 rabbis meeting in the border states under the leadership of the Chofetz Chaim (Rabbi Israel Meyer Cohen) one of the most famous Polish rabbis. The call for a fast day is in protest against the immigration stoppage in Palestine.
