The exodus of Jews from Harlem to Washington Heights and the Bronx has caused a decrease in the population of many sections of Harlem, according to figures just made public by the Census Bureau. The preponderance of old tenement houses lacking modern conveniences is regarded as the chief reason for the exodus from Harlem. Besides the Bronx and Washington Heights, the Borough of Queens has also profited from the losses of Harlem.
