Dr. Harris Heads Committee of Physicians for Campaign

Dr. Louis I. Harris, former Health Commissioner of the City of New York, has accepted the chairmanship of a committee of physicians which is to cooperate with the New York Allied Jewish Campaign.

Associated with Dr. Harris are Doctors Jacob Brawn, I. S. Tunick, Henry Keller, Aida Sloan and Jacob Sobel. The committee will canvass the Jewish members of the medical profession in this city for contributions to the $2,500,000 which is being raised here toward $6,000,000 which is being sought nationally for the 1930 budgets of the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Palestine.

Tonight there will be a mass meeting of the Jewish residents of Rock away Park in the interests of the campaign. The meeting will be held at the Community Center of Temple Beth-El, Rockaway Boulevard and Beach 121st Street. The speakers will be Justice Edward Lazansky and Jonah J. Goldstein. Magistrate William P. Wiener is chairman of the Rockaway Park division of the campaign.
