An official announcement in connection with the Dead Sea concession will be made in the House of Commons soon, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learns. It is likely that the British government will declare its readiness to agree to the suggestion of the French government that the rival claims to the concession be submitted for arbitration to the Permanent International Court at The Hague as was done with the Mavromatis concession for the electric power in Jerusalem.

The Dead Sea concession for the reclamation of potash is now held by a syndicate headed by Major Tulloch and Moses Novomejsky. This grant has frequently been the subject of debate in the House of Commons and has been subject to attack by Arab leaders in Palestine.
