Dr. Maurice B. Hexter, the American member of the Palestine Executive of the Jewish Agency, has just returned to the United States. He will render a report on the work of the Palestine Emergency Fund, the current situation in Palestine and the recent discussions of the political committee of the Jewish Agency held recently in London, at a joint meeting today of the American members of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency and of the executive and administrative committees of the Zionist Organization of America.
Dr. Hexter came to the United States for a brief visit in order to report about his activities in Palestine where he has been in dual capacity of representative of Felix M. Warburg, chairman of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency, and as the American member of the triumvirate in charge of the Palestine Emergency Fund, for which $2,000,000 was raised in this country under the chairmanship of David M. Brown. He will go abroad again in time to attend the meeting of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency in Berlin, August 29.
During the short time he has been in Palestine, Dr. Hexter has become very popular in all circles of the Jewish community where his tact and executive ability have received high praise.
In Saturday’s issue of the New York “Forward,” the Palestine correspondent of that paper praised Dr. Hexter’s activities in Palestine. The correspondent writes, “We must admit that the Jews in Palestine found in Dr. Hexter a devoted and energetic man who tirelessly gave of himself to the colonization work in Palestine. With great success he utilized the experts from different quarters to work out the necessary plans for colonization work. He proved that he is a friend of the labor movement.”
