Jacob Wassermann’s “World’s Illusion” and Stefan Zweig’s “Case of Sergeant Grischa” are included among the “sixty great novels of all time,” chosen by Professor William H. F. Lamont of the English department of Rutgers University, who is a noted lecturer on the novel. Prof. Lamont made his selection at the request of many librarians in all parts of the country.
“The Case of Sergeant Grischa” was published only two years ago and is the most recent book on Prof. Lamont’s entire list. “The World’s Illusion” was published in 1920.
