The Jewish Telegraphic Agency learns that the name of the Palestinian Jew found dead near the railroad tracks in Zahle, Lebanon today was not, as had first been reported, Michael Benjamin, but Benjamin Lifshitz of Tel Aviv. He is 43 years old and left a widow and three children. His brother is secretary of the Haifa Jewish Chamber of Commerce.

While the Lebanon press termed Lif-shitz’s death suicide a group of Beirut Jews have written a letter to the Palestinian press expressing their suspicion that he was murdered and urging an investigation.
