An attempt has been started here to have the the Shakespearean play, “The Merchant of Venice” withdrawn from the local high school curricula. Officers of the Jephthah Lodge, B’nai B’rith, of this city, have already expressed themselves as being opposed to the continued study of the play in the schools, and hence with the co-operation of the Anti-Defamation League of the Order, will lodge formal objection with Richard E. O’Dea, president of the Board of Education.

Mr. O’Dea has already indicated that he will have the board of education consider the matter should formal objection be raised.
