That the work of the Y.M.H.A.’s and Y.W.H.A.’s of the state of Pennsylvania should not be retarded by the present financial depression was decided at the annual state convention held at Bushkill Falls, near here, for the past several days About 500 members of the Y.M.H.A.’s and Y.W.H.A.’s from all parts of the state were present at the convention.
All organizations in the State were urged to economize as much as possible, but not to curtail their usual activities to aid Jewish young men and women and to further promote Judaism.
Milton J. Kolansky, of Carbondale, former chairman of the state executive committee, was elected president. Jack Sher, of Easton, one of the most active Y.M.H.A. workers in the state and secretary of the Easton organization, was named chairman of the Third district. His duty will be to look after the cultural activities of the district.
