Louisiana Congregation Calls Jewish Institute Graduate

Rabbi Albert G. Baum, a graduate of the Jewish Institute of Religion of this year’s class, has been elected to serve Temple Gemilluth Hasodim in this city. For the past two years Rabbi Baum has been serving as Acting Rabbi of Temple Israel, Amsterdam, N. Y. Rabbi Baum was educated at the College of the City of New York, from which he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1923, and did graduate work at Columbia University. At the Jewish Institute of Religion, he was awarded the Philip Waldheim Prize in Social Service in 1927 and was the Free Synagogue Social Service Fellow in 1927-28. Rabbi Baum will take up his duties in Alexandria on Sept. 1.
