King Carol sharply condemns the anti-Semitic excesses in Roumania and has taken vigorous measures to prevent any recurrence of them, Artistide Blank, head of the famous Marmoresh-Blank Bank, the largest in Roumania, and one of the outstanding Jewish leaders and philanthropists of the country, who is now on a visit here, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

M. Blank expressed himself as full of confidence and optimism as regards the future development of Roumania. The assumption of power by King Carol has already contributed a great deal to the stabilization of conditions and all signs point to Roumania’s being on the road to a period of consolidation, the Roumanian banker declared.

Voicing regret at the anti-Semitic occurrences that have taken place in the last few months, M. Blank said “I nevertheless believe with full confidence that we need not fear any repitition of these events”.
