Rabbi Samuel M. Gup, spiritual leader of Temple Beth El, Providence, Rhode Island, was one of the principal speakers at the opening session of the Unitarian Layman’s League’s three-day convention here. Rabbi Gup is the first Jew ever to occupy a place on the program of the Unitarian Layman’s League. The convention, which will deal principally with the problem of the unchurched, was addressed by Rabbi Gup on the “Unchurched from the Jewish Standpoint.
