The anti-Semitism of the National Socialists in Germany is becoming a matter of public indecency, the Manchester Guardian says, reporting an incident from Berlin to support its statement. The paper says that a Jewess, an American citizen, representing an important and well-known organization, called on Dr. Joseph Goebbels, National Socialist leader in Berlin, and was deliberately insulted.
Instead of being received with the courtesy usual in civilized countries she was merely informed that Dr. Goebbels refuses “as a matter of principle” to talk to Jews. She was also insulted by a noisy and menacing throng of National Socialist stalwarts, male and female, gathered around the building. She had no alternative except to leave the building at once. The woman wishes to remain anonymous and hence the Manchester Guardian is not disclosing her name.
