Reporting that 3,000 roubles in silver have been found in the Borisov synagogue, the Jewish Communist paper Oktiabre attacks the synagogue as a “nest of counter-revolution” and demands that it be converted into a workers’ club. The paper charges that the money belongs to the sexton who “apart from selling food-stuffs and alcoholic drinks has speculated with valuta”.

The Oktiabre says that the sexton has confessed his guilt, claiming that part of the silver belongs to his friends who feared to keep it at home.
