Only 2,500 people settled in Bira Bidjan for the last three years, since this district in the far East became open for Jewish immigrants.

The activities of the Ozet, the organization which conducts the Jewish migration to Bira Bidjan, were therefore, severely criticized today at a conference which took place in the newly proclaimed Bira Bidjan region.

The conference adopted a resolution that the work of migration to Bira Bidjan should be taken away from the Ozet management and transferred to one central state institution.
