The Hague international tribunal may be consulted regarding the Palestine situation, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned from reliable sources today. The Palestine question came up for private discussion among the judges participating in the sixteenth session of the tribunal.
Frank B. Kellog, American member of the tribunal, is said to have discussed the matter with the members of the American legation. It is also stated that the Zionists might be sure that a majority of the judges are favorably inclined to consider the question.
A majority of the judges are of the opinion that the Zionists have the right to demand that the League of Nations consult The Hague tribunal as to whether the interpretation given by the British Government to their Palestine obligations is in accordance with the terms of the mandate.
Some judges also expressed the opinion that Ramsay MacDonald, who favors an expansion of the tribunal’s authority and scope, could hardly oppose an inquiry by the tribunal into the Palestine subject.
