Characterizing the recent action by the British government in issuing the White Paper on Palestine as a betrayal of trust, the representatives of New Orleans Jewry, Orthodox, Conservative and Reform, and Mayor T. Semmes Walmsley addressed a protest meeting which was attended by more than 600 persons here, last night. Rabbi Mendel Silber referred to the White Paper as a “Black Paper, demonstrative of hypocrisy and politics which is being played at our expense.” Resolutions denouncing the British policy were unanimously adopted by the meeting.
