Although rumors that Lord Passfield, Colonial Secretary, was about to resign, have been officially denied. The London Jewish Chronicle says in its current issue that it has excellent reason for not attaching undue importance to this denial. In the same issue, the Jewish Chronicle says that Pinchas Rutenberg, chairman of the Palestine Jewish National Fund, is to make a bid for Zionist leadership, with American support, at the forthcoming Zionist Congress.
