Gratitude for the support which Finland has given to the cause of the Jewish National Home at the League of Nations (the Foreign Minister of Finland, M. Procope, played a very important part in this regard at the League of Nations Council last year in his capacity as Rapporteur on Mandates) was expressed today by Mr. Leib Jaffe, Director of the Keren Hayesod, to the President of the Finnish Republic when he was received by him in audience.

Mr. Jaffe gave the President a full report on the progress of the up building work that is being carried on in Palestine. The President showed great interest and expressed his sympathy with the Zionist cause and the Palestine activities. He asked Mr. Jaffe to convey his greetings to the Jewish homeland, and to the Jewish people and his blessings on the Palestine work.

Mr. Jaffe presented the President during the audience with a copy of the Hebrew translation of Finland’s national epos “Kalevala”, which has been made by the famous Hebrew poet, Dr. Saul Tchernichowski.
