A Labour delegation headed by Mr. J. Ben Zvi, the Palestine Labour leader, interviewed to-day the High Commissioner, Sir John Chancellor, to complain to him of the non-employment of Jews on Government and Municipal works.
Sir John Chancellor said in his reply that no solution had yet been found of the whole question of the employment of Jews on public works. He added that he had ordered the heads of Departments, however, to employ Jewish labour.
A Labour delegation has also interviewed the Deputy District Commissioner of Jerusalem, asking him to see that at least half the public works should go to Jews. The Deputy District Commissioner promised to look into the proposal.
