Cecil Sees Establishment of Jewish National Home As Duty of Civilization

The establishment of the Jewish National Home in Palestine is a sacred duty of civilization in reparation of the many injustices to which the Jewish people have been subjected, Lord Robert Cecil, former member of the British cabinet and patron of the Anglo-Palestine Club, declared in an interview here with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Lord Cecil, who was in Prague to attend a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, said, “I am convinced that after this National Home is established, the Jewish people will once again contribute to the world’s civilization. I feel certain that the English government, as far as immigration is concerned, will be guided only by economic considerations and will allow the Jewish immigration into the country to be as extensive as the economic condition of the country will permit.”
