Herman Heyermans, the famous Jewish dramatist and novelist, author of “The Ghetto”, “Sabbath”, the “Diamond Town”, and other works dealing with the life of the Jews in Holland, is to have one of the new streets in Amsterdam, where he lived, named after him. The Amsterdam City Council has just adopted a resolution to this effect.

Heyermans, whose works have been translated into English and produced on the English stage, was born in Rotterdam in 1864 and died in Amsterdam in 1924.
