The Club of Jewish Deputies has introduced an interpellation in the Seym in which it places on record that during the anti-Jewish excesses which occurred in November, the local authorities in a number of districts suppressed the excesses on their own initiative, but complains that in several other districts this was not done until the authorities had received a special Government order, instructing them to take action, showing, the interpellation says, that all the local authorities in the country do not realise that anti-Jewish excesses in themselves must not be permitted.
The Government must bring it home to all the local authorities, the interpellation urges, that anti-Jewish excesses must not be permitted and that if any take place they will be held responsible.
Preventive measures have become imperative, the interpellation declares, because the anti-Jewish boycott agitation conducted by the National Democratic elements has created an atmosphere in the country which makes further excesses inevitable at any moment unless strong preventive measures are taken immediately.
