32 alleged Communists who were arrested at an outdoor meeting on January 30th., and have been kept in prison since, were acquitted this morning by the British Magistrate, Dr. Cressall.

Dr. Cressall in acquitting the prisoners censured the police for an imperfect understanding of what constitutes an illegal assembly. He criticised the police persecution of Communists, and reprimanded an Arab police officer for having fired at the crowd.
